Tanglewood Golf Course Tournament Results

The Mid Missouri Chapter would end the month of July at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton, Missouri. The weather was hot and so were the players. The players battled hard in the heat and the course rewarded great play and punished mistakes.

It was a competitive race from start to finish.  As the players made the turn only a couple of shots separated the leader from several challengers waiting for an opportunity to make a move.  Kory Glasgow of Westwood KS with solid back 9 would guard against a late charge by his competitors. Kory Glasgow would win Division 1 with a (+2) 74.

Randall Minchew of Columbia, Missouri would jump out to an early lead on the front. A lead he would maintain with consistent play all the way to victory. Randall would capture is first victory with a (+2) 74.

This was a tight divisional competition with only 1 shot separating 3 of our competitors. Adam Gulley of Wright City, Missouri had a 1 shot lead over both Ross Rosenbaum of New Bloomfield, Missouri and Twig Wood of Columbia, Missouri. Twig, a 3-time winner already this year was again in prime position for a possible 4th victory this year. It was not in cards for Twig as Adam held both him and Ross at bay for the win. Adam would win with a (+4) 76

A division that saw plenty of movement and lead changes. David Szczucinski of Kansas City, Kansas had the lead by a couple of shots at the turn.  Both Brian Brown and MacKenzie Thorp of Columbia, Missouri were within striking distance on the back 9. David would stumble some on the back before recovering slightly to close the back 9. That stumble combined with some great play by MacKenzie would open the door for a come from behind victory for MacKenzie. MacKenzie would win with a (+7) 79 to grab his second victory this year.

This competition came down to truly 2 competitors JJ Gladden of Lebanon, Missouri and Reginald Simmons of Columbia, Missouri. JJ would make the turn with a nice lead over Reginald. The back 9 proved to be reversal of fortune for our competitors as we would see Reginald make up significant ground on the back 9. They would both leave the 18th with a score (24+) 96. The playoff began on hole #1 and would remain all sqaure after its completion. Reginald would win the playoff on hole #2 and giving him his first victory.
