Shelby Shootout Golf Tournament Results

84 players all came to The Shelby Shoot-Out with one goal in mind, winning a Championship.

Riverbend Golf Club hosted the first day of the tournament and as expected, the course was in fantastic shape with fast greens. Day 2 was hosted by Deerbrook Golf club on a day when thunderstorms and rain would damper the finish for Division 5. The golf course was in excellent shape, which the golfers raved about.

Day 1 was filled with historically low scores for all divisions.

In Division 1, Zack Byers (Shelby, NC) and Tim Barto (Matthews, NC) were tied at 3 under 69. Jody Clary (Shelby, NC) was close to them shooting a 2 under 70.

On Day 2 of the tournament, it came down to the last hole as Zack Byers tripled the 18th hole to make it go into a playoff, while shooting a 1 over 73. Joining Zack in the playoff was Timothy Barto also shooting a 1 over 73. Scott Roberts (Charlotte, NC) also got into the playoff by firing a 3 under 69. They went back to number 18 and Scott and Tim both made bogeys to move onto another hole as Zack Byers made a double bogey to finish T-2. They went to number 1 and Tim Barto almost drove the green and made a birdie, while Scott Roberts made a par.

Congratulations to Timothy Barton!

In Division 2, John Bradshaw (Crossville, TN) had a leading while shooting an even par 72. Eric Stanwick (Charlotte, NC) and Travis Wartluft (Charlotte, NC) both shot a 2 over par 74 to be 2 back.

On Day 2, the conditions were much harsher as John Bradshaw shot a 9 over 81, Eric Stanwick and Travis Wartluft both shot 7 over 79. Just like in Division 1, we had a 3-way playoff for the win. Eric Stanwick took the win in the playoff as John Bradshaw and Travis Wartluft finished T-2.

Congratulations to Eric Stanwick!

In Division 3, Andrew Haines (Huntersville, NC) shot a career round of even par 72. David Moses (Casar, NC) was right behind with a 2 over 74. Allen Hagen (Indian Trail, NC) rounded out the top 3 while shooting a 5 over 77.

On Day 2, the leader Andrew Haines could not follow up the amazing round on Saturday, while he shot an 18 over 90 to finish 3rd. David Moses shot a 12 over 84 to finish in second, as Allen Hagen finished the win by 1 while shooting an 8 over 80.

Congratulations to Allen Hagen!

In Division 3, Joe Lee (Gaffney, SC) fired a 5 over 77 to take a 1 shot advantage to day 2. Kevin Lepage (Mooresville, NC) was right behind after shooting a 6 over 78. Scott Bryant (Pickens, SC) was not far behind while shooting an 8 over 80.

On Day 2, Joe Lee ran away with it while shooting an 83. Kevin Lepage finished second shooting an 87. Rounding out the top 3 was Scott Bryant with an 88.
