Tamarack Country Club Tournament Results
On Sunday, the St. Louis Chapter closed up its fall season with a second event at Tamarack Country Club in Shiloh, IL. The event was a modified Stableford format, with 8 points being awarded for eagle, 4 for birdie, 2 for par, 1 for bogey, and 0 for double bogey and worse. 41 players enjoyed a beautiful fall day with big swings would happen as players could fire at pins and be rewarded for making birdies.
In Division 1, Matt Minder and John Todd were locked into a back and forth battle all day. Todd birdied 16, then Minder stuffed one on 17 to make it close. When Minder’s birdie putt slid by the hole on 18, Todd secured the win with a solid round of 2-over par 73 and 36 points. The win is John Todd’s first of the 2022 season for the 2020 Player of the Year.
In Division 2, 18 holes was not enough to crown a champion as Chris Scoles and Dave Oleksa both tied at 33 points. The sudden-death playoff went 3 holes, with Dave Oleksa ultimately prevailing. Jim Billadeau and Nate Hampton finished tied for 3rd, one point behind with 32 points. Mike Weigand and Billy Davis tied for 5th with 31 points.
In Division 3, 18 holes would not be enough to determine a champion as Ronnie Price, Jeff Morgan, and Tim Leonberger were all tied with 26 points. On the first playoff hole, Ronnie Price drained a 40 footer for the victory. Darin Smith, John Reed, Simay Souvannarath, and Michael Konuch each tied for 4th place with 24 points each.
In Division 4, Danny Graves played his best round of the 2021 season, shooting an 80 to earn 28 points and a 4 point victory over Jesse Baumann, who finished with 24 points. Jesse was recently promoted to Division 4, after steady improvement throughout the 2021 season. 3rd place went to Allen Starnes, who has finished with 23 points.
In Division 5, Doug Sinn earned his first win on the Amateur Players Tour, finishing with 16 points to best Jerry Miller with 15 points and Sysco Deuanephenh with 12 points.
