30 players took to the course for the 1st playoff event for the Smoky Mountain Chapter at the Tanasi Golf Club. Weather wise, the players had to deal with several different elements. One minute it was hot and sunny and the next, it was raining and windy. All the players were able to complete their round despite the weather delay.
Div 1- Tim Saunders tied his low score of the year with a -3, 69. Saunders won by 11 shots over Ethan Vincent.
Div 2- Johnny Pierce secured the victory after shooting a -1, 35 on the back. Pierce’s 75 was 3 better than Blake Benson, who finished 2nd.
Div 3- Rick Collier set the bar early with a 4 over front 9 and never looked back. He took home the trophy with a 3 shot victory over Nashville’s David Sheron who finished 2nd.
Div 4- Jason Anderson said he played his best round of the year when he signed his scorecard. Anderson ran away from the field with an +11, 83 which gave him a 6 shot victory. Troy Brown and Paul Harris tied for 2nd with a pair of 89s.
Div 5- The lone playoff of the day came in Division 5. Dale Dantzler and Robbie Carlton were all knotted up at +15 after regulation. Dantzler was able to secure the victory on the 1st playoff to win his first event of 2021.
