Hanging Rock Golf Tournament Results
Division 1: West Virginia points leader Jerod Ewing battled Carolina Triad points leader Will Morgan for most of the day to see who would come out on top. After being tied through 9, Jerod took bogey on holes 10 and 12, but rebounded with a birdie on 13. Will took bogey on hole 11, but tossed in a birdie on hole 16 and that was the difference as he hung on to defeat Jerod by 1 and claim another championship on an impressive season up to this point.
Division 2: Virginia Capitol player George Sandridge made his season debut at Hanging Rock, where he won unopposed with a final score of 88.
Division 3: West Virginia player Daryl Nelson took his first win of the season unopposed on his home course with an 86.
Division 4: West Virginia points leader Justin Keaton won unopposed with a score of 93.
Division 5: West Virginia points leader Kevin Long went head to head with 2nd place in points Jason Massie at Hanging Rock. Kevin took a 5 stroke lead to the back 9, but Jason came on strong and tied the match at hole 16. Jason and Kevin traded pars on hole 17, and then on 18, Kevin took a double bogey. Jason missed his bogey putt, but sank the next to force a playoff. On the 1st playoff hole, Kevin was able to capture his 3rd win of the season and go back to back creating momentum as he gears up for the tour championship in a few weeks with just one tournament remaining before then.
