The Amateur Players Tour-Birmingham began the 2023 wrap around season on October 30, 2022, at the newly reopened Limestone Springs Golf Club in Oneonta, AL. A limited field of 36 players competed over five divisions and a senior net contest.
Mike Weathers took control of Division 1 early in the round by making the turn at 2 under par. Mike pushed his score to 4 under par before bogies on two of the final three holes. Mike finished the day at -2 (70) to take the victory over Jay Hayes and Derrick Cain who both posted scores of +3 (75). Mike was awarded the trophy and a $150 Visa Gift Card for his victory.
Division 2 was a two-horse race all day long that took a playoff to decide the outcome. Garrett Stansky and Kevin Schrum both posted scores of +5 (77), after both making birdie on the final hole. A playoff soon began on the 1st tee. Garrett Stansky drained a birdie putt from just under twenty feet to edge out Kevin on the first playoff hole. Garrett was awarded the trophy and a $150 Visa Gift Card.
Division 3 was won by Houston Black of Altoona, AL with a score of +5 (77). Houston used three birdies and stayed steady thru the round to take the victory. Houston was awarded the trophy and a $200 Visa Gift Card.
Division 4 was called after 16 holes due to darkness with Kenneth Robbins taking the victory. Kenneth was +10 for the day to take a one-shot victory over Dennis Antkowiak. Kenneth made par on the final hole counted to secure the victory. Kenneth was awarded the trophy and a $180 Visa Gift Card.
Terry Hodge started the 2023 season where he left of from the 2022 season. After securing his first victory on the APT, Terry followed that up with another victory. Terry was +10 thru 16 when play was called due to darkness. Tim Harbin took second place posting +13 thru 16. Terry was awarded a $200 Visa Gift Card and the trophy.
