We had a sold-out 2-day Major event at Indian Creek, June 10 & 11. This venue features two different courses with each course waiting to take golfers on a challenging round. There were 2 eagles and 46 birdies for the first round with an average score of 89 and our second round had 42 birdies and an average score of 92. A tough weekend for sure but some good finishing scores and a total purse of $6,970 to award.
Winner – Division 1: Nate Zahn (73 + 78) 151
Guest and now one of our newest members, Nate Zahn took home the trophy and 1st place scoring a total of 151 for the weekend. Taking 2nd place was Andrew Morsinkhoff with a weekend round of 153 and tied for 3rd place, Brand Branch and Daylon Lott scoring a total of 159.
Winner – Division 2: Fraser Singleton (75 + 75) 150
Fraser Singleton had a fantastic weekend with a total of 7 birdies and 24 pars claiming 1st place and the trophy by scoring a total of 150. In 2nd place, Zoey Daneshfar brought in a score of 163 and another tie for 3rd place with Raymond Dawson and Josh Linn both scoring 164.
Winner – Division 3: Justin Kreutzer (79 + 86) 165
Justin Kreutzer, Birmingham tour member, took 1st place by one stroke with a total of 165. There were birdies and pars claimed by all, but Justin prevailed by bringing in 21 pars for the win. Following Justin was a 3-way tie between James Barton, T.J. Toney and Paul McGee, all with a total score of 166.
Winner – Division 4: Paul Turner (90 + 86) 176
Long-time member, Paul Turner took 1st place by one stroke with a total of 176. Steven Pond did his best to catch Paul but the extra birdie and a few more pars kept Paul just ahead for the win. Steven came in 2nd with a total of 177 and Mike Burgin came in 3rd with a 179.
Winner – Division 5: Tommy Chang (92 + 99) 191
Another long-time member, Tommy Chang had a great round on day one, overtaking the field and clinching the win with a total of 191. We had a tie for 2nd place with Eric Watson and Michael Becker coming in with a 198.
Winner – Senior Net – Donnie Penney (75 + 69) 144
We had 21 players in the Senior Net this weekend. Donnie Penney took 1st place by 4, with Paul Turner coming in 2nd with a net total of 148. Greg Hawkins and Paul McGee tied for 3rd with a total of 149.
Lots of winners in our Skins games as well.
