2023 Coyote Springs Golf Tournament Results

[read_time]

It was a warm yet beautiful day in the desert of Moapa, Nevada. For two days, 64 players were battling this hard and beautiful course at Coyote Springs trying to come on top in each division. It is definitely a very challenging course. They are in immaculate shape with greens rolling very fast. Overall, it was a successful event for the Las Vegas Amateur Players Tour during our SUMMER BLAST CHAMPIONSHIP

Division 1 – It was a back and forth battle all day between several players in Division 1, but Travis Zappia [152] from the Phoenix chapter held on for a one-shot victory over second place finisher Kendel Chrysler [153]. Starting the day there were six players all within a couple of shots of the lead, but Travis played very solidly and came out victorious. Congratulations Travis for this great win on a fantastic golf course.

Division 2 – Las Vegas Chapter stalwart Eric Andrachik [164] pulled off another victory on a difficult golf course to secure this championship. Las Vegas chapter member Mark Smith [165] finished second. This was a battle all day for this division, and it came right down to the final few holes for Eric to come out on top. Congratulations Eric on this hard-fought championship.

Division 3 – Another back-and-forth division that ended with Matt Baiza [179] holding off first day leader Levi Lynch [182] for the victory. Hard charging Chase Burbank [183] birdied three holes in a row to finish third. This is Matt’s second win of the season and is now set up to go into the North American Championship in Myrtle Beach this September in great form. Congratulations Matt for staying focused and pulling out this victory.

Division 4 – Traveling from the Southern California chapter, Milton Gray [182] played very steady golf to hold off second place finisher Sean Butterfield [185]. Taking third place was Martin Vermillion [195]. Milton started the day very confidently and held off the field for this impressive 3 shot victory.  Congratulations Milton!

Division 5 – Another big battle in this division that went to a playoff and Wes Raynor [185] took the championship over Curtis Sharp [185]. Wes started the day with a 2-shot lead but struggled some on the closing holes to end tied with Curtis. The playoff was on hole eighteen where Wes made a great up and down for par to secure the victory. Vicentico Pringle [192] finished third. Congratulations Wes on this impressive win!

Senior Net – Another tournament where the division winner takes the Senior Net. Congratulations to division two champion Eric Andrachik [148 net] for securing the senior net over second place finisher Mike Brocki [150]. Andrew Yeh [152] took third. Eric is a multiple winner in the APT tour and is in the running for the Player of the Year award. Congratulations Eric!

Congratulations to all the Champions!

A huge thank you to all our tour sponsors, especially EMPOWER GOLF PERFORMANCE for being the Title Sponsor on this event, and to the staff at Coyote Springs and the ladies at Mitch’s Grill for taking great care of us. Next stop for the Las Vegas chapter is the NYE COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP at beautiful Mountain Falls Golf Club in Pahrump, NV. Only a few spots left.

See everyone on tour!
