2023 Arrowhead Golf Tournament Results

The Birmingham Chapter of The Amateur Players Tour visited Arrowhead Country Club in Montgomery, AL. This was the first trip to this facility and players were treated to firm fairways and receptive, yet tricky greens. Players were all competing for a share of over $1800 in total prizes. 

In Division 1, Tommy Jean used six total birdies on the day to cruise to another victory this season with a score of 71 (-1). Mike Weathers was close until a run of three bogies on the back nine allowed Tommy to shut the door. Tommy was awarded the trophy and $150 Visa Gift Card. Mike Weathers, however, was awarded the Senior Net victory. 

In Division 2, there were three different players that held the lead throughout the day. In the end, John Perron made three birdies and used a back nine 37 to take a one-shot victory. John battled through some struggles on the front nine but never gave up. John was awarded the trophy and the $180 Visa Gift Card. John also ended up 2nd in the Senior Net event and was awarded another $120. 

Division 3 was a two-horse race all day long between Jeff Taylor and Tanner Brown. Tanner came out blazing and made the turn at even par while Jeff was five shots back. Jeff stole the first from Tanner and used a back nine 37 to catch Tanner. Jeff ended with a 78 (+6) to take the one-shot victory over Tanner. Jeff was awarded the trophy and the $190 Visa Gift Card. 

Division 4 was another close battle between the top two on the leaderboard. Mike Penn and Brain Sanders traded blows on the back nine, but Mike was able to post 84 (+12) to take a one-shot victory over Brain. Mike was awarded the trophy and the $150 prize. 

Division 5 was won by Kyle Sheheane with a score of 88 (+16). Kyle made back-to-back birdies on the from nine to help secure the three-shot win over Bobby Arrighi. Kyle was awarded the trophy and the $190 Visa Gift Card to go with it. This was Kyle’s first victory on the Amateur Players Tour. 

Next up on the Birmingham Chapter is a trip to Ballantrae Golf Club in Pelham, AL. This is one of the Birmingham members’ favorite venues to visit. This event will take place on August 12th and registration is open to all members and guests.
