White Manor Country Club Golf Tournament Results
One week after the USGA held US Open qualifying at the pristinely manicured White Manor Country Club, the Amateur Players Tour tee’d it up to take the stern test laid out by architect Bobby Weed.
Division 1 was paced by Dan Ayers who opened with three birdies on the front nine. Defending champion Bobby Booth kept pace with two birdies of his own as both players posted scores of one over par 36. Ayers posted a fourth birdie on the back on his way to a closing score of 74 to add to his 2022 win total.
It was a three-man shootout as newcomers Chris Bevelheimer and Tim Tullio battled with veteran APT member Brad Garrett for the Division 2 title. Garrett was first in the clubhouse posting a score of 85. Bevelheimer and Tullio looked to have the top two spots in hand going into the tough 17th and 18th finishing holes, but both stumbled a bit with the trophy so close. Bevelheimer held on for a one stroke victory over Garrett earning the win in his APT debut.
Dan Kessler posted two birdies on the front nine, taking firm control of the Division 3 contest with a solid opening nine of 39. He would hold the field at arm’s length the rest of the way posting a 4-shot victory for his first 2022 APT win.
Division 4 was very tightly contested with 7 players finishing within 2 stokes of the winner. With several players already posted in the clubhouse with 93’s, Giovanni Morales used two birdies to dash their hopes with a final score of 92 for his second APT win of the season.
When Fred Hering is on his game, the rest of Division 5 needs to put on their hardhats. Hering came out and put on an aerial assault, hitting green after green while tossing in a few timely two putts on his way to a stellar 89 making him a multiple winner in 2022.
