The Amateur Players Tour Music City/Nashville Chapter held its second event on Saturday April 17th. We were able to skirt the predicted rain showers for the day and played in nice, cool conditions.

Division 1 had two players separate themselves from the rest of the field on the first nine holes. Dakota Woodcock (36-39-75) and Derek Nicholson (40-36-76) from the Birmingham chapter were nip-and-tuck all day, but a final-hole bogey derailed Derek and gave Dakota the one-stroke victory.

In Division 2, Jared Walker came to play on Saturday and play he did. Jared (35-36-71) posted three birdies against only two bogeys to post a one-under round of 71 and run away with victory. Jason Gregory (39-39-78) takes home second place over Bill Alley (37-42-79) who closed his round with two bogeys to finish in 3rd place.

Division 3 had the largest field of all the divisions with 18 players competing. Even though he started leaking oil on the last few holes, Ryan Lansfield (40-43-83) goes back-to-back to capture his second victory on the young season by one stroke over Jerry Drewry (43-41-84). Marc Kochamba (39-46-85) tied for third place with Lowe Prescott (38-47-85). A scorecard playoff would be required. USGA tie breakers are used (Back nine total, last 6-hole total, last 3-hole total, last hole score). Marc bested Lowe by one-stroke on the back nine to take the third-place gift card.

Division 4 was a tight competition at the top battling for the top three spots. Tony Todd (41-42-83) played consistently all day with 17 holes with bogey or better. He scored the victory by four strokes over Matt Parker (44-43-87) and Scott Lansfield (42-45-87). Matt captured 2nd in the scorecard playoff by two strokes with the better back nine. Scott takes home third place.

In Division 5, Bruce Bates (43-45-88) was able to fend off David McDow (45-44-89) for his first win of the season. Bruce's win was decided over the last three holes as an untimely triple bogey by David and steady play by Bruce gave him the one-stroke victory. We are looking forward to getting this season rolling and we thank all the players for coming out!
