APT Sumter Open Results
The APT Sumter Open was held at The Links of Lakewood in Sumter,SC. Special thanks to Jay Huggins, Kay Huggins Howell and their Dad for an amazing day, If you haven't played here in a while, they are doing some amazing things. It has been voted the best golf course in Sumter for 3 years running and I expect #4 is coming soon. The day started out with a surprise weather change. First Tee Time was at 7:45 and we averaged a little under 4 hours per group. Amazing!!!!
Division 3 Jimmy Starrett played his career round for sure. He hit is straight and played smart as he said in interview after his round. Won't be long and he will be in Division 2. Joey Todd and Crys Peyton finished tied for 3rd.
Division 4 took 20 holes to decide the winner. Larry (Pat) Foster and Mike Shorter finished the 18th hole at +10 which was their best rounds to date, Pat won the crown with a par on the 2nd playoff hole. 3rd was Dodd Daniel and Sean Mason and Alan Reynolds finished tied for 4th.
In Division 5, Randall Johnson also played his best round ever, 83 (+11) It might be because of the lessons he has been receiving from yours truly!! Cody Peyton fresh off his win from another tour finished 2nd.
