The Legacy at Greystone Golf & Country Club Results

The Birmingham Chapter played the Legacy at Greystone Golf and Country Club on 26 March 2022 in Birmingham, AL with 53 Players from 4 different Chapters.  Players experienced a beautiful and breezy spring afternoon with a bit of wind to challenge the players.  The Legacy is a beautiful layout, and the greens were rolling pure.  Want to thank Mr. Steve Smith and Kevin Rossi for hosting us. 

In Division 1 we had 13 players competing.  After everyone in Division 1 completed play we had a tie between Daniel Love and Max Faure both shooting a +3 75.  Max had an incredible last 3 holes playing -3; chip in for eagle on hole 16, par on the difficult downhill par 3 hole 17 and birdied hole 18 to force a playoff.  Both players went to hole 1 for the playoff.  After Daniel hit the green, Max fired back and stuck his approach shot to about 3 feet and made the putt to secure the victory. Lamar Adams came in 3rd, one stroke back shooing 76. 

In Division 2, James Otwell started out three over on the front nine and kept his momentum going shooting only two over on the back for a final score of 77.  His steady play earned him the win 2 strokes ahead of Anthony Valdez who shot 79.  Cory Gooch shot an 80 to take 3rd.  

In Division 3 we had our largest field of 14 players battling it out.  Shane Parrott went 43-40 to shoot 83 with a two-shot lead to capture the Division 3 title.  Phil Lambert came in second place shooting an 85.  Visiting player Bryan Packer came in 3rd carding an 87. 

In Division 4 our champion Mark Rigby started off a little shaky shooting a 46 but followed up the back nine with a 42 to shoot an 88.  Wilson Gammill and Cody Watson shared second place honors both shooting 95.  

In Division 5 Tim Harbin held steady throughout the day despite the late afternoon wind.  He shot 48 on the front and 46 on the back carding a 94.  Josh Vadney came in 2nd shooting +20 and Terry Hodge came in 3rd with at +33.
