Silverado North Golf Tournament Results

The second event of the Northern California APT season was contested on the Silverado North Course, site of the PGA Tour’s Fortinet Championship. Conditions were near perfect as light rain overnight softened up the course just enough to make the firm and fast greens reasonably receptive, the temperatures reached the low 60s and the wind stayed calm, it was a great day for golf.

Austin Krewson, with an even par (72), was our champion in Division 1. Austin’s solid -1(35) was good for a three-shot lead after the opening nine. Austin extended the lead to five after a solid birdie on the 15th, but a double bogie seven on the 16th would raise some doubts bringing Nick Mcclendon and Ron Yim to within three headed to the 17th tee.  Austin would answer the call and make birdie on both 17 and 18 to close out the win. Austin took home a $200 visa gift card and barrel trophy.  Nick Mcclendon +3(75) was our second-place finisher and was awarded $50 visa gift card for his effort.

Uti Ganaprakasam, with a +1(73), was our champion in Division 2.  Uti’s solid even par (36) on the opening nine resulted in a four-shot lead over the opening nine of +4(40) by Billy Witt and Paul Ventimiglio. After bogies on 10 and 11, the lead would shrink to two. The lead would stay at two until 14 and 15 where Uti’s back-to-back birdies would extend the lead back to four. Completing the round with two pars and a bogie, Uti would close out the win. Securing his first victory on the APT tour, Uti took home a $230 visa gift card and barrel trophy.  Billy Witt +4(76) was our second-place finisher and was awarded $50 visa gift card for his solid performance.

Matthew Muser, with a +12(84), was our champion in Division 3. We would see many names move around the top of the leaderboard in D3.  After the front nine, it would be Rich Fong +6(42), leading the way over Paul Mounts +7(43), Rob Steves +7(43), Matthew Muser +8(44), AJ Quintero +9(45), Tim Brown +10(46) and Jason Tatum +11(47). The event would turn quickly on the back nine as Matthew Muser had the shot of the day on number 10 holing out from the fairway making an eagle two. He would leave the 10th green leading by one. Matthew would back up his eagle with a par on 11.  This extended the lead to two and Matthew never looked back. Jason Tatum would grind away on the back nine shooting a +2(39) to tie for 2nd with AJ Quintero. Matthew took home a $200 visa gift card and barrel trophy. AJ Quintero & Jason Tatum each received $25 in tour credit for their efforts.

Jeff Albritton, with a +20(92), was our champion in Division 4. After the opening nine, it would be Phillip Payer’s +8(44) leading over Jeff’s +12(48). Jeff would chip away into the lead where he would square things up after the 15th hole.  Jeff would make pars on 16 and 17 to take a one-shot lead and close things out on 18 with a just enough double bogie. Jeff took home a $150 visa gift card and barrel trophy for the win! This was Jeff’s first victory on the APT after three events.

Just two entered the gate in Division 5, but the competition didn’t lack drama. JC Womack, looking for his first APT win, was matched against stalwart John Spradling. JC took a two-shot lead into the back nine. Despite some missteps on 15 and 16, JC would steady the ship with a clutch par on the 17th and complete his round with a stress-free bogie on the 18th sealing his first victory. JC took home a $70 visa gift card and barrel trophy for the win!
