Russellville Country Club Golf Tournament Results

The Arkansas Chapter of the Amateur Players tour. Planted the APT flag in Russellville, AR., this weekend. As twenty players descended on Russellville Country Club. The weather was gorgeous. With blue skies and plenty of sunshine. The course was in Immaculate condition. The players would take advantage of the bentgrass Greens. As we saw lots of birdies made. 

In Division One. There was a battle between Greg Connell and Gene Davis. Two Division One seniors making their debut on the Arkansas Chapter of the Amateur Players Tour. Greg Connell would take home the champion title in Division One with a score of 77. Gene Davis would take second place with a total score of 78. 

In Division Two. Kendall Price will jump out to an early lead. Shooting a 36 on the front nine. Which would leave Mark Brailey trailing by three shots. Shooting at 39 on the front nine. As Division Two made the turn, Mark Brailey would make a firing charge to try to catch Kindle Price. But with Kendall’s birdie on number 18, it sealed the deal. Kendall Price would take home the champion title for Division two, shooting a total score of 76 as Mark Brailey would finish in second place, shooting a total score of 79. 

In Division Three. Elisha Payne would take the early lead shooting a score of 41 on the front nine while Billy Molton and Turner Holland would shoot, matching scores of 44 on the front nine. Billy Molton would make a charge on the back nine as Division Three made the turn. As Division Three battled back and forth on the Back nine. Ultimately, Billy’s birdie on number 18 would seal the deal. Billy Molton would take home his first ever win on the Arkansas Chapter of the Amateur Players Tour, shooting a total score of 83. Elisha Payne would take home second place, shooting a total score of 85. Turner Holland from the Memphis Chapter would shoot a score of 91 to take home third place in Division Three. 

In Division Four. Kenneth Taylor would jump out to an early lead, shooting an impressive score of 37 on the front nine, leaving the rest of the field chasing Kenneth Taylor as they made the turn. As Division Four would play the back nine Rob Luter would find himself making up a lot of ground on Kenneth Taylor to tie his score of 84, giving us the first playoff of the day. As Rob Luter and Kenneth Taylor would find themselves in a playoff playing hole number 10 a par 4. Rob Luter would make his long par putt to take home the win over Kenneth Taylor. Jeff Corder Would take home the third-place finish shooting a total score of 88. 

In Division five. Tracy Taylor would take the early lead as they finished the front nine shooting a score of 43 over Mike Kelly’s 46 and Jim Haslauer’s 45. As division five would play the back, nine things would change on the leaderboard. Mike Kelly from the Memphis Chapter would nudge out Tracy Taylor. Shooting a total score of 90 to take home the win. Tracy Taylor would take home the second-place finish, shooting a total score of 93. Ira Watkins made a charge on the back nine to finish in 3rd place shooting a total score of 95.
