It is Father’s Day weekend, and the weatherman got this one right. After a few hot and humid days in the piedmont area of NC, the weather turned for the better and the players were greeted with low humidity and temps in the mid 80’s for a great round of golf at one of the best Public Golf Courses the area has to offer.
In Division 1 we had 8 players compete on this day. Casey Alexander (CLT) played steady all day and took home first place honors with a round of 74 (+2). Casey had 3 birdies on the day and avoided any big numbers to shoot one over par on both nines. Second place went to Dennis Reames who was only 1 shot back with a 75 (+3). Dennis struggled a bit on the front with a 40 but came back strong on the back nine with a 35 which included an Eagle on the par 5, 13th hole.

In Division 2, we had our largest number of players with 27. Seth Hawkins (Carolina Triad), comes thru and wins by 1 with a round of 76 (+4). Juan Sedano (Carolina Triad), takes home 2nd with a round of 77 (+5). We had a 3-way tie for 3rd with Pedro Montoya (Carolina Triad), Victor Rivera (Carolina Triad), and Michael Edwards (Charlotte) all shooting 78 (+6). One the Senior Side of the competition, Juan Sedano takes first, and Pedro Montoya takes second.

In Division 3 we had 19 players battle it out. Aaron Tripp (Carolina Triad) takes home a 2 shot victory with the only sub 80 round in division three. His round of 78 (+6) was 2 better than 4 players. WE had a 4-way tie for 2nd place with Joe Cannatti (CLT), Kirk Tatge (CLT), Josh Johnston (CLT) and Trinity Manning (Carolina Triad) all splitting the 2nd-4th place winnings. One the Senior side, Cannatti and Tatge tie and split the 1st place honors and winnings.

In Division 4, Sean May (CLT) puts together a a great round for his second victory of the season. Sean’s 79 (+7) was the best by 4 on this day. Scott Bryant (Upstate) takes home second place with a score of 83 (+11). On the senior side, Scott Bryant takes home first with Kevin Lepage (CLT) grabbing second with a score of 84 (+12).

In Division 5 Hubert Jones (CLT), playing with a heavy heart and an angel on his shoulder shot a round of 86 (+14) to win by 5 over David Rosier (CLT). Hubert also claims the Senior 1st place as well.

Nest weekend (June 25th and 26th) the Upstate Chapter is hosting a 2-day event at Savannah Lakes Village (Monticello Golf Club), Monticello is a great golf course on a fantastic piece of property on Lake Thurmond. Double Prize pool and Points for those that enter. You will not be disappointed.
On Monday June 27th, The Carolina Triad chapter is hosting an event at Colonial Country Club in Thomasville. This is a 10:00 shotgun start and the entry fee includes a buffet lunch that is being provided by the club.
