Lake Forest Country Club Tournament Results

Last week, the Amateur Players Tour converged on Lake Forest Country Club, with a sold-out field of 125 players competing on one of St. Louis’ premier championship courses.  Designed by renowned golf course architect, Gary Kern and completed in 1985, Lake Forest covers 130 sprawling acres.  The 18-hole, par 72 championship caliber golf course showcases mature trees, creeks, lakes, gently rolling terrain, and manicured greens.

In Division 1, Geff Dunn had a tremendous day, shooting three over-par 75, chalking up a win against the open and senior field.  Brett Newton was hot on Geff’s heels all day long, coming up just one shot behind shooting a four over-par 76 on the day.

In Division 2, Mark Lamoureux came out with a strong comeback after being out with an injury, shooting six over-par 78 winning the open and senior competition. Dan Kohnle had his best round on tour finishing one shot behind Mark, shooting seven over-par 79. Nate Hampton finished eight over-par 80, while Matthew Nemnich and Mike Mervis tied for 4th with rounds of 81. Mike also came in second in the senior competition.

In Division 3, Chris Canfield earned his first win of the 2022 season, shooting nine over-par 81. David Ross made a strong statement in his first event on tour, shooting ten over-par 82. Ron Polillo had his best round of the year winning the senior division and coming in 3rd against the open field, shooting 11 over-par 83. Phil Scherer, Brian Dobrynski, and Jason Stone found themselves in the winners’ circle all shooting twelve over-par 84. In the senior competition, Jason found himself winning second place, while Jason Christopher and Simay Souvannarath tied for third shooting thirteen over-par 85.

In Division 4, Greg Miller showed up to play with an astounding round of eleven over-par 83. Dallas Cook of Bellville, Illinois came in three shots behind Greg, shooting fourteen over-par 86. Jeramy Wallace found himself in the winners’ circle shooting fifteen over-par 87. Allen Starnes had his best finish of the 2022 season shooting sixteen over-par 88. On the senior side, Mike Scalera chalke up his first win off the 2022 season, shooting seventeen over-par 89, while Michael Scoles finished right behind him shooting eighteen over-par 90.

3. Jeramy Wallace: +15 – 87 
4. Allen Starnes: +16 – 88

Senior Division 4 Results: 
1. Mike Scalera: +17 – 89 
2. Michael Scoles: +18 – 90

In Division 5, it was a tight race! Jerry Miller and Tim Jones tied for 1st place, shooting twenty-three over-par 95. After the playoff, Tim was able to edge out Jerry for the win. Michael Moynihan and Albert Orelt tied for 3rd shooting twenty-six over-par 98. Even though Jerry couldn’t pull off the win against the open field, he was able to win 1st place in the senior competition. Followed by Michael Moynihan and Albert Orelt tying for second place.
