Gamecock Open March Madness Results
We had a great filled for our first Monday event. We were the lucky ones for sure to have the opportunity to bring our members to Cobblestone Park Golf Club in Blythewood, SC. Cobblestone is the home of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks golf teams. We played the Garnet and Black courses. Course was amazing especially after all the rain we have has this year. Mike Burroughs and his staff were amazing and were very pleased with the Pace of Play. We were able to keep in under 4:42 minutes. Best time was 4:16 and longest was 4:42. I am so proud of how our players are doing their part to stay on time. We actually did our registration on the first tee for the first time. My belief is that it really helped and we actually teed the last group off 5 minutes early. Thanks again for everyones help to improve the Players Experience. We had one exciting thing happen. We had the pleasure of seeing Mr Sterling Sharpe. He was one of the Greatest receivers to come put of USC and played for the Green Bay Packers. I was able to speak with him for about 30 mins and hopefully talked him to come play in one of our events. He was put there practicing. This would be awesome for our Chapters.
Division 1 had 4 competitors battle it out. New member David Gibson birdied the first hole and never looked back. He finished the day with a 78 (+7) for his round. Jordan Jones all the way from Huntsville, AL finished 2nd at +12, Darryl Phelps finished 3rd at +14 and Travis Powell, Elvis himself came in 4th at +17, Needless to say the course won!!!!
Division 2 winner once again was Lee Dixon. Sore knee and all fired an impressive 78 (+7). I gave him some Motive CBD Roll On Serum and I think that made the difference. Corey Coursey a new member finished runner-up at +12. Travis Warluft continued his stellar play finished tieed with another first timer Mac Gandy from FLorence at +15
Division 3 once again was won by our very own Justin Gainey. He finished at +12 for the day. Russ Donaldson Owner of our Alabama Chapter made a surprise visit and finished 2nd @ +16. tied with my assistant Crys Peyton. Ronnie Strange for the Palmetto/Highlands Chapter rounded out the top 4 at +17.
Randall Garver form the Queen City (Charlotte) came down and took the crown at +12. Alan Reynolds another assistant birdied his final 2 holes to take 2nd at +17.
