It was a beautiful sunny day in Barboursville as the Amateur Players Tour West Virginia Chapter kicked off their third event of the season. 29 players joined in the event.
In Division 1, Jerod Ewing took the lead after an eagle on hole 14 and was in a three way tie at the top with 1 hole remaining. After the other players bogied the last, Ewing prevailed with a two putt par for victory with a 73.
Division 2 came down to a playoff at 77. Both of these players played excellent and battled all day. Jeff Rollyson was down 1 going into 18 and made a par to force a playoff. But it was James Heath who came out on top in the end.
In Division 3 Claytina Shepherd carded an impressive 76 to earn her first victory on the APT. Shepherd was 1 over after 15 holes with 4 birdies on the day.
Division 4 came down to 1 shot. Eddie Lilly was down 4 shots with 2 holes to play to charge within 1 by shooting 1 under on the final two holes. However, it was Matt Robinson who finished with a 79 to earn the one shot victory in Division 4.
Division 5 had 9 players overall. Patrick McNeely closed the door early on the competition with a clubhouse lead 87 that never wavered. McNeely finished with three straight pars to finish strong and earn the victory.
