Cypress Lakes Golf Club Tournament Results

It was a great sunny and windy 80-degree day in Houston, Texas, and we had many close scores to win turned in from all divisions. In fact, we had three of the five open divisions ended in a tie for first place requiring a playoff.   

Div 1: Nic Smith had a front nine score of 39 to trail Chris Hughes 37 by two shots, but battled on the back nine to tie Chris with a total score of 76. Nic Smith took the playoff for the trophy, with Chris Hughes taking 2nd place.      

Div 2: Grant Surla and DK Kelly tied for first place with a score of 77. Grant won the playoff taking 1st place, with Dk taking 2nd place. 3rd place Ron Carlin just missed the playoff with a score of 78. 

Div 3: 1st place Ryan Agnew from the Dallas-Ft Worth tour shot 81 to take the trophy over 2nd place tie between Pat Ryan and Brady Langston who shot 83.        

Div 4: 1st place Martin Scarpati won a playoff over 2nd place Jim Craig when both posted scores of 84. 3rd place shooting 87 was tied between Shan Schaefer, Victor Rangel, and Tony Rose.      

Div 5: 1st place Rob Vespa took home the trophy with a score of 88 beating 2nd place John Sparks 92 by four shots. 3rd place tie with a score of 93 went to Braden Petru and Chad Hummel. 

Senior Net Division: 1st place Martin Scarpati had a great “net” score win by shooting -5 net, over 2nd place Chad Hummel -4 net. 3rd place was tied with -3 net by Will Whitley, Pat Ryan, and Shan Schaefer
