Cherokee Valley Golf Tournament Results

The Upstate SC Chapter of the Amateur Players Tour rolled into Cherokee Valley Course and Club with a lot of excitement. As the day progressed, players were here hit with a steady 20-30 mph wind that caused high scores and some lost balls. The sunshine gave a warm feeling even with the wind and the course was in great shape.

In Division 1, we had 10 players compete on this day.  Scott Roberts (Charlotte) continued his strong play from 2021. On the front nine, Scott only had 1 birdie and 2 bogies for a 37. On the back nine, the wind gusts increased but Scott was able to fire a 38 for a total of 75. Greg Moore (Upstate) fired a steady round of 77 for second place.

Congrats Scott!!!

In Division 2, For the second tournament in a row, a playoff would be needed to determine the Champion. Todd Lindsey (Charleston) & Eric Johannsen (Upstate) finished tied at 76. The playoff took two holes with Todd taking home the Championship. Robert LaCombe finished in third place with a 78.

CongratsTodd!!!

In Division 3 we had 13 players battle the wind in a quest to become a Champion.  Allen Hagen (Charlotte) fired a 44-38 for 82 to take home the first-place trophy. Allen used a steady game on the back nine with one birdie thrown in to conquer the victory. Troy Millwood (Upstate) fired an 85 to take home the second-place prize money and edged out Jake Lancaster (Upstate) by 4 shots.
