The Amateur Players Tour – Birmingham contested the Local Finals at Capitol Hill – Senator of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail on September 10-11, 2022. Five tournament champions were crowned as well as Player of the Year for each division.

In Division 1, Derek Nicholson started sluggish with three bogies in the first six holes and then finished round one with five birdies over the last twelve holes to finish at 71. Derek took a five shot lead into day two over Lamar Adams. Two early bogies from Derek allowed Lamar Adams to get within three strokes. Derek birdied holes three and four to regain the lead and would not give in from there. Derek finished with scores of 71-73 (E) to take the victory. Our D1 Player of the Year is Max Faure. Max used three victories over the season to take the honors. Congrats to both players.

In Division 2, Garret Stansky used rounds of 79-74 to cruise to his second victory of the season. Garret was awarded the trophy and a APT branded Visa Gift Card worth $285. Division 3 was the same story as other divisions. Christian Cox cruised to a five-stroke victory with rounds of 83-81. He took the victory, which was Christian’s first of the season, over the 2022 Player of the Year, Phil Lambert. Phil used two victories and three other runners up finishes to secure the Player of Year honors for Division 3. Congratulations to both players.

Division 4 did not miss the memo of the weekend. Danny Daniel used a solid opening round of 86 to build a lead he would not relinquish on day 2. Danny cruised to a nine shot victory as the other players struggled over the two days. Our Division 4 Player of the Year Award goes to Cody Doles. Cody had one victory, however Cody only finished outside of the top three five times on the season. Cody used his solid play to wrap up Player of Year honors by only 137 points. Congrats to both Cody and Daniel.
