32 Golfers teed it up at the beautiful Brickshire Golf Club in Providence Forge, Virginia. A 12 player field was the test in Division 2 where Rich Geren picked up another victory this season since moving up from D3. He captured a 3 shot victory over Nathan Beck while only carding one birdie in the round of 77. Chris Denz finished 3rd 4 shots off the lead.
Division 3 also had a 12 player field and it saw Charlie Hertel capture his first victory of the 2022 season with a one shot victory over Travis Crawley. Charlie posted a 79, Travis a 80 and Larry Patterson finished two back with an 81.
Jim McNier was playing as a guest and captured D4 with an 81. Jim’s play earned him a battlefield promotion to D3 for Sunday’s event.
Mike Jones continued his winning ways in D5 with a 91 to win by one over Tom Fredette. Kyle Carsten and Enrique Young tied for 3rd, 3 shots off the lead.
Mike Jones captured 2 Net Super Skins, while Mike Cobb, Mark Robertson and Les Bullock captured one each. Mark Robertson captured two super skins, while Mike Cobb, Ken Owens and Les Bullock each had one.
Mike Cobb, Mike Jones, James Sims and Mike Barton each won a Closest to the Pin.
Virginia Capital’s next event is the Chapter Championship on September 17-18 at Stonehouse and Royal New Kent.
