The serene Senica’s Oak Ridge Golf Course in La Salle, IL, provided the perfect setting for a competitive day of golf, blessed with sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 60s. Despite recent heavy rains, the course was in remarkable condition, setting the stage for a series of compelling matches across several divisions.

In Division 1, Scott Prosser emerged victorious with a solid score of 76, leaving Stephen Dunn and Jonathan Boerger tied in his wake, each with an 80. Prosser’s performance was characterized by consistent play and strategic decision-making, which secured his lead.

The drama unfolded in Division 2 where Hank Stolz won with an 82, narrowly surpassing Lane Danielson, who finished with an 83. Danielson led by one stroke going into the final hole but faced a challenging double bogey on the 18th, which ultimately cost him the title.

Newcomer Anthony Orza claimed the top spot in Division 3 with a commendable 91, outpacing Jordan Bartlett, who carded a 95. Orza’s win in his debut was a highlight of the day, showcasing his potential in future tournaments.

In Division 4, Terry Witte, representing the Chicago chapter, scored a 93 to win his division. Meanwhile, Division 5 saw Billy Brickley stand out with an exceptional 87, the best score in his division and a remarkable achievement under the conditions.

Special accolades went to Larry Osborne, who triumphed in the Senior net division, and Gary Harlow, who clinched the Closest to the Pin contest, both adding extra excitement to the day’s events.

The next tournament is eagerly anticipated at Mattoon Country Club on May 6, where players will look to build on their performances from a memorable day at Senica’s Oak Ridge.
