On Memorial Day weekend, the Amateur Players Tour headed south to the beautiful Streamsong Resort, which is rated as one of the Top-6 golf resorts in the world.  There players would face 3 courses rated in the top-30 in the US, designed by arguably 3 of the most famous architects in the modern era.  Streamsong Blue (Tom Doak), Streamsong Black (Gil Hanse) and Streamsong Red (Bill Coore/Ben Crenshaw) provide 3 unique championship tests of golf, where players have the ability to go low if they’re on their game but can also prove to be exceedingly difficult should you get out of position.  120 players were competing for over $15,000+ in prizes at the APT Players Championship, the signature 54-hole event of the 2024 season.

In Division 1, Marc Young (Houston) returned to the winners circle, using rounds of 71-71-75 to finish at level par and earn a 4 shot victory.  John Masotti (Carolina Triad) played steady all weekend, highlighted by a 1-under 72 at Black on Sunday to finish in solo 2nd at 4-over par with rounds of 74-72-75.  Nathan Frazier (East Tennessee) fired a 2nd round 68 at Black to finish in a tie for 3rd at +6 with Derek Nicholson (Birmingham) and Marco Tallerico (St. Louis)Nicholson’s final round was highlighted with a 2 on the drivable par-4 9th that capped off an opening 32 that left him with the round of the day Sunday with a 3-under 69.
