The Amateur Players Tour St. Louis visited St. Clair Country Club on the west side of Belleville. The 18-hole championship golf course was completed in 1927 and has matured into one of the very finest in the area. At 6502 yards from the championship tees the par 72 course is both challenging and enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels.
In Division 1, Matt Minder and Michael Hornak shot one-over par 73. John Todd shot two under-par 70 to take home 2nd place in the Open Competition and 1st place in the Senior Division. Marco Tallerico was crowned champion with his best finish on tour shooting five under-par 67.
In Division 2, Michael Lingenfelter continues to find his name at the top of the leaderboard. Lingenfelter shot five over-par 77 for a 3rd place finish in the Open Competition and 2nd place finish in the Senior Division. Marcus Wirth of Scottsdale, AZ shot one under-par 71 for a 2nd place finish. The winner of both the Open Competition and the Senior Division was Kent Van Cleve shooting two under-par 70 on the day.
In Division 3, Gregory Miller of Wood River, IL had a good day shooting nine over-par 81 to finish in 4th place. Peter Allen and Dalton Thompson Tied for 2nd shooting seven over-par 79 on the day. Tim Knocki was crowned champion in both the Open Competition and the Senior Division shooting six over-par 78.
In Division 4, we had a three-way tie for 2nd between David King, Shannon Brooks, and Adam Haegele shooting twelve over-par 84. In the Senior Division, it came down to a playoff between David King and Shannon Brooks. After a two-hole play-off David King was crowned champion. The winner of the Open Competition was Michael Adkins of Festus, MO shooting eight over-par 80 on the day.
In Division 5, we had a tie for 4th between Christopher Jones and Josh Burnett shooting 25 over-par 97. We also had a tie for 2nd in the Open Competition and tie for 1st in the Senior Division between Chris Brockmeyer and Forrest Bower shooting 23 over-par 95. After a two-hole playoff, Chris Brockmeyer was crowned champion of the Senior Division. The winner of the Open Competition was Stevie Frank shooting thirteen over-par 85.
Next stop on tour is Spencer T. Olin in Alton, IL for our 2023 Local Major which will be a double points and double prize pool event.
