In Division 3, Oak Lawn's own Ryan Mraz clinched a commendable 3rd place finish, displaying a score of 24 over-par across a span of two days. A riveting contest unfolded on the 36th hole of action, featuring a head-to-head showdown between Rick Williamson and Christian Benevides. The duo remained tied as they approached the 18th tee. In a strategic move, Williamson opted for a cautious approach on the short par 5, electing to lay up and shoot for par. In contrast, Benevides pursued the birdie, only to face the consequences. As the final hole reached its conclusion, Benevides grappled with a triple bogey, while Williamson secured a composed par. This pivotal turn of events crowned Williamson as both Division 3 and Division 3 Senior Champion, a testament to his impressive performance over the course of two remarkable days of play.
