We began our Sunday tournament at Tierra Verde Golf Club with cool temperatures in the 80’s! This is Texas folks, so we call this cool in the summer months. However, it didn’t take long to heat up, so as we do in the hot months, we started off with a shotgun start to get ahead of the expected triple digits for the day.
Winner – Division 1: Jeff Seger (73)
The heat was no match for our 1st place winner, Jeff Seger, who had a 2-stroke lead with a score of 73 over Nick Maze who came in second with a 75. Coming in third was Andrew Morsinkhoff with a 77
Winner – Division 2: Matthew Jones (80)
In Division 2, it was a battle between Ray Dawson and Matthew Jones, but Matthew prevailed and took a 2-stroke lead over Ray bringing in a score of 80, while Ray Dawson scored an 82 for second place. Phil Klein had an 86 for third place.
Winner – Division 3: Bobby Hart (80)
Bobby once again won first place by three strokes bringing in a 80 over a second place tie between Dennis Denoski and Michael Cox, both bringing in an 83. By way of a scorecard playoff, Dennis Denoski took second place and Michael Cox claimed third place.
Winner – Division 4: Brian Hart (85)
Brian Hart carded an 85 claiming first place in a 4-stroke difference between the second-place tie between Jimmie Paterson and Lee Roy Hess who had an 89. In the scorecard playoff, Jimmie Paterson took second and Lee Roy Hess took third place.
Winner – Division 5: Michael Richards (95)
Michael Richards brought in a score of 95 for first place to win by two strokes over another tie for second. Brian Turner and Tommy Chang both had a score of 97 but by way of a scorecard playoff, Brian Turner took second place and Tommy Chang took third.
Winner – Senior Net – Jeff Seger (-10)
We had 21 players in the Senior Net today. Jeff Seger came in first place followed by Stu Kambury coming in second and Bobby Hart took third.
Our quickest finish was 3 Hrs. 58 Mins., and another in 4 Hrs. 12 Mins.!
