The Steel Club Tour Finals Results

After season of great competition and close points races the finals arrived at the Donald Ross designed Steel Club with a lot on the line.

In Division 1, AB Behura took a season long victory lap and collected his Division 1 Player of the Year after a fantastic season that included multiple local and national wins including a National Major at Whistling Straits.

Rocky Dare and Al James Nagbe ended the day tied (79) so went out for a sudden death playoff on hole one. Rocky came through with his signature short game prowess with a fantastic up and down to save par and take the win. It also clinched the Division 2 Player of the Year for Rocky who played steady, excellent golf all year long.

Division 3 had the Rick Knepp and Ed Gilbert playing side by side to see who would take the Player of the Year. Both came out and played excellent golf with Gilbert holding Knepp at arm’s length with a two-shot lead through 7 until Knepp Birdied #8 and #9 to tie at 39 for the front. Gilbert again opened a two-shot lead but stumbled on 17 and Knepp passed him for the victory and clinched Player of the Year. Knepp is also a multiple local and national winner with a win at the National Major at Troon.

Larry Barber continued his second half of the season dominance with a closing victory at Steel Club to hold off first half star Dave Neder for Player of the Year in Division 4. He’ll be looking to add to his Philly Metro hardware at the National finals at Pinehurst.

In Division 5, Fred Hering added his second win of the year with a steady 93 holding off Don Varga, who was trying to win back-to-back, by one stroke.

Congratulations to all our winners and thank you for a great season. The players make the tour.
