The weather played a huge part in the beginning and middle parts of the tournament. The overcast of clouds brought rain. The storms brushed thru the area twice. After a total of 2hrs and 3 mins of weather delay we were able to get out and complete 18 holes of golf.
In Division 1 Park Williams paced the day off with 3 birdies on the front to take an early 3 shot lead over the field. Wesley Tyner kept his head down and pushed forward in the attempt to catch Williams. Tyner mishap on #13 cost him a real chance at victory. Williams E(71) and Tyner +1(72).
In Division 2 leaderboard was very strong. 3 way tie for second with a score+7(78) Pedro (2nd), Jody Barrett(3rd), and CJ Beatty (4th). The players second were nipping at the heels of J. Combs. Combs rolls into Starmount Event with a victory a The Neuse. Combs very solid and steady play as of late one might say has put stamp on points race thus far this year.
In Division 3 Mike "Greensboro Mike" Foster has played 3 events on APT. Foster captured his 2nd victory in a row with a score of +8(79). Foster steady play of late may be enough to let D2 players know when he gets there he will still be factor. Joey Todd +10(81) was good enough for runner up. We had 2 way tie for 3rd John Biggs and Jason Beeson. Biggs wins scorecard playoff to finish 3rd as Beeso takes 4th.
In Division 4 extra holes were needed to determine winner. Recently promoted Christy Mccauley and 'steady eddy" Bobby Hutchinson +17(88) required the players to take it back to the course for more action. In the first playoff hole McCauley was victourious after Hutchison 3 putt. Congrats Christy job well done.
In Division 5 Gary Tulbert was on fire after recent victory at Grandover. Tulbert shot +20(91). The score was not good enough for a victory as Allen Williams comes in with a strong +19(90) to take the victory. Williams was second at Grandover to Tulbert. We may have rivarly brewing here.
Adjusted pace of play: 4hrs 13 mins. Final group original tee time was 1:10pm 2 hr delay. All rounds completed at 7:08pm. Well done everyone
