Palmetto Chevrolet Season Opener Results

The Inaugural Event for the Carolina Coast Chapter of the, The Palmetto Chevrolet Season Opener was a great success. We had 47 out of the 49 make to the beautiful Wild Wing Plantation golf resort.  Special thanks to all that traveled to come support us. We had players visiting from 7 different Chapters which was amazing for a 1 day event. The course was amazing and basically won so to speak or we could say the weather one. We were Cart Path only due to the amount of rain that fell Friday evening. The entire staff at Wild Wing were amazing. The Superintendent and his staff were able to get the course ready to go by 10:00. The course was in great shape considering all the rain the area has received this winter. Greens were medium speed and in perfect shape. Big thank you again to all the staff at Wild Wing.

We normally do not shotgun but being our first event and with conditions the way they were, we decided to do this. We brought everyone to their carts at 10:00 am for all the Welcome and announcements. All the players were able to meet one of the Owners of the Amateur Players Tour. Jody Barrett and made the long drive from Nashville to be at our first event and it was nice to have him come and speak to all of the participants. This was a plus for sure and shows supportive they are to us as Chapter owners. Palmetto Chevrolet was the Title Sponsor for this event and Mark Scott the Sales Manager who is also a tour member spoke to us as well.

The weather played a huge role in the scoring today. It wasn’t too cold when they teed off about 48 degrees but shortly after they started the winds picked up and never continued the entire day.  We were able to reach our goal and kept the pace of play to about 4:35 mins which is great considering the weather and being CPO.
