Mirimichi Golf Course Tournament Results
The weather once again became a factor for the Memphis/Mid-South APT’s two-day regional event at Mirimichi. Saturday’s warm and muggy weather gave way to an hour long lightening delay in the middle of the round. Luckily mother nature allowed us back on the course and we were able to finish the round. Sunday’s round was met with much cooler temps and wind. Two inches of rain Saturday night forced us to cart path only and a real test to the players with softer fairways and greens.
Division 1 saw an incredible battle for two days. Drew Taylor managed to pull off the win in his first event on tour with a final score of 143 (72-71). Josh Caldwell fired matching 72s for a second place 144 and Ed McDugle finished one back of that with a 145 (73-72).
Division 2 saw a repeat winner as Paul Luker fired a two day total of 156 (79-77) to edge out Birmingham member Tom McMurdy by one shot (155; 77-80). Nashville member Marcus Wirth took home third place with a two-day total of 158 (76-82).
Division 3 saw first time tour winner Travis Gullick cruise to a 4 shot win after firing 79-80 for a two day total of 159. Jon Sylvester took second place with a 163 (78-85). Nashville member Tim Knox took home third place points and prize with a two-day total of 165 (80-85).
Division 4 saw Brian Nabors (176; matching 88s) edge out Anthony Myers (177;84-93) for first place points and prizes. Third place went to Jason Bucher with a two-day total of 178 (93-85).
Division 5 had a six shot victory sealed by Trey Horrell’s 185 (93-92) win over Cale Alexander at 191 (96-95) and Arthur Miller, Jr in third at 192 (92-100).
Mirimichi once again proved to be a challenge for our players and we look forward to returning again next year!
Our next event is June 4, 2022 in Tunica, MS at RiverBend Links. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
