Kansas City’s Creekmoor Invitational Results

[read_time]

Another great event today at one of the best courses in Kansas City! Thank you Creekmoor for allowing us to host an event at your wonderful facility! The course proved to be scoreable for those who kept it out of the rough, and punishing for those that didn't. If you don't know Creekmoor... it's some of the hardest rough to play out of.

JR Munson had the lead in D1 most of the round, but there were a few guys within a couple strokes. A late run of birdies by Jamold Little gave him the clubhouse lead with a 1 over 73. JR was 2 over going into 18, and with a clutch birdie on the par 5, they went to a playoff. JR took the win on the first hole with Jamold finding tough lies in the tall stuff. This is JR's first win after being out 2 years and 2 wrist surgeries.

In Division 2, a couple players set themselves apart today. Gary Stockdall was -1 at the turn, finding fairways and greens, but Alex Fortuna was right on his heels. Both players finished with an incredible 2 over 74, and went to a playoff on hole 10. Alex took the win with a par on the first playoff hole. Alex is looking like the player who finished the season strong last year now.

Dan Price played lights out today, and kept his wits about him. Playing simple, smart golf, he stayed out in front of the D3 pack most of the round. He took a convincing win, shooting a 7 over 79 to win by 4 strokes over Dillon Rogers. Dan said he's looking forward to D2 soon!

Chris Young had a solid lead in Division4, until hole 16. His ball disappeared in the deep rough off the tee box, forcing him to hit a second tee shot. Two triples in a row left Todd Pfeifer, who shot a great round of 86, one back but in the clubhouse. Chris got caught up in the deep rough and bunkers on hole 18, and a double bogey left him in a tie for second with Chris Hubbard, carding an 87, and Todd took home his first APT victory.

D5 was a tight race all day, with a few players going back and forth the whole round. Marcus Swinson was able to stay calm, and finish it off, winning by 3 strokes over the two players in T2. Great job Marcus!

What a fantastic weekend and another great sellout event! We take off for Father's day then back at Shoal Creek on the 27th for the rain out makeup round! Still a few spots left!
