Forest Hills Golf Club welcomed Amateur Players Tour members and guests to Augusta, GA. The weather was hot but the course was in fantastic shape. Forest Hills was recently voted the best public course in Augusta. Players enjoyed some of the fastest greens we have played on all year. There were several first time participants and first time winners on the APT at this event!
In Division 1, Russell Sabol from Martinez, GA shot +1 (73) earning his first APT win this year. Congratulations Russell!
In Division 2 from Augusta, GA Stew Kremer shot +3 (75) earning his third win of the year. Great playing Stew! Tyler Kemp +4 (76) from Evans, GA came up one shot short in his first APT event.
Division 3 winner was decided in extra holes as a playoff was needed to determine the winner. Jeffrey Johnston +8 (80) of Evans, GA edged out Kyle Johnson +8 (80) of North Augusta, SC by making his par putt on the first playoff hole. This is Jeffrey’s second win of the season!
In his first event of the year Division 4 player Abram Gladney +7 (79) from Austell, GA won by three shots over Steven Hawk +10 (82) from Lexington, SC. Way to go Abram!
Division 5 was action packed as three players turned in scores of +12 (84). Extra holes were needed as Caleb Price from Waynesboro, GA parred the first playoff hole to edge out his brother Jerry Price Jr. also from Waynesboro, GA and Troy Fridie from Aiken, SC. Caleb is 15 years old and this was his first APT event of the year. Big things to come Caleb!
