The 2022 Calendar Season kicked off in Lancaster, SC with 80 Players from 5 different Chapters. Players experienced a beautiful spring afternoon with a bit of wind thrown in just to challenge the players even more. Edgewater, although still dormant, was in great shape with the bent grass greens that were sneaky fast.
In Division 1 we had 17 players compete on this day. Cooper Bell (CHI) who is down south on Spring Break from Michigan, came out strong on the front 9 with a 2 under par 34, he made 4 bogies on the back nine, but his score of 74 was good enough to hang on for the win. Daniel Jackson (CLT) got off to a slow start with a 3 over par 39 on the front but came back strong on the back to close the gap and just miss out on a playoff shooting 75. Rounding out the top 3 was Eric Goodell (AUG) who shoots 77 to grab the last paying spot.

In Division 2, Tom Cone (CLT) started out a little shacky with a double bogie on the 2nd hole and another bogie on 7 to shoot a 3 over par 39 on the front 9. But a strong back 9, 36 that included 2 birdies and 2 bogies. His total score of 75 was good for a 4-shot victory and his first victory on the APT. Judd Dye (CLT) +7, 79 finishes 2nd. Chase Brown (CLT), making his return to competition in 2022 shoots 80 to claim third place. Nolan Elenz (CLT) and Daryl Averyhart (Char) Tied for 4th with scores of 82.

In Division 3 we had 22 players battle it out. As the sun settled, we ended up with a Tie for the win. Tony Keochli (UPS) and Bryan Kemmerlin (CLT) both shot 83 on the day. Due to limited daylight, there was no time for a playoff and both players will share in the victory. Justin Gainey (Char) just misses the tie for the win shooting 84. We had a 4-way tie for 4th with the following players all shooting 85. Vic Lawrence (CLT), Monty Farley (CLT), Tyler Phillips and Tim Wyatt will all share in the 4th place earnings.

In Division 4, Tim Driggers (Char) visited the Charlotte Event and came away victorious with a score of +17. We had a tie for 2nd between 3 players all shooting +19. Jerry York (CLT), Mark Langford (CLT), and Michael Deaton (UPS) splitting the 2nd and 3rd place prizes.

In Division 5 Steve Daniels took the lead early and never looked back. Steve’s score of +23 was good enough for a 5-stroke victory over Terry Bollenbecker who shot +28.

NEW FOR 2022
The first ever Senior Net competition was a new competition for those players 50 years of age or older. Congratulations to Tom Cone (Div 2) and Tony Koechli (Div 3) who tied for the win with a score of +1. Tim Wyatt takes 3rd with a score of +2 and rounding out the top 4 was Vic Lawrence with a score of +4.
Due to no fault of our players, the last 2 flights were scored using 17 holes due to the final 8 players not being able to complete all 18 holes due to darkness.
