Thank you to all the players that made it to Chateau Elan this Saturday! It was a beautiful day and the course was in great condition! Even though we had to change courses due to the putting greens, all the players enjoyed the challenge of the harder Woodlands course. Congrats to our winners!
Division 1
When playing tournament golf, sometimes your game has to travel well. That was definitely the case for our D1 winner, coming all the way up from Upstate SC Tour! Dan Constantino was able to keep a solid round while playing on the tips at a course he's never played before! Dan was able to keep his nose out front of the other 2 competitors in D1 by making 2 birdies on the back 9. We had a 2-way tie for 2nd in D2 with Chris Jones and APT Tour Newcomer Matt Lattanzi. Both players shot the exact same scores on the front and back 9! Congrats to our D1 players!
Division 2
Tres Gammill has been on a tear playing solid golf and that did not stop him today! Tres drove the 2hrs from the Birmingham Tour and shot a great round of 77 that included 2 birdies on the front 9 and held onto the lead on the back 9. Great round today Tres! Todd Smith (Atlanta) is not a newcomer in tournament golf, but wanted the chance to come out to Atlanta APT and see how we run tournaments over here. I think he's sold on the tour and congrats with some skin money and placing in 2nd in D2. And there was a tie for 3rd place between Stew Kremer and AJ Ayala. The last 9 couldn't decide it, neither could the last 6 or the last 3! We had to go to the hardest handicap hole on the course and it was Stew coming out on top with a par on the hardest hole on the course to come in 3rd! Well done Stew and thanks for making the drive from Augusta!
Division 3
Sometimes all a player needs is a chance to play and prove themself out on the course, and that's exactly what our D3 winner did today! Congrats to APT Atlanta Tour Newcomer Chad Jones for winning his 1st APT Tournament by 3 strokes! Chad wanted to check us out and see what tournament golf is about, so it must've been a good taste considering Chad went home with Skins money and a Visa Gift Card for $110! Congrats to Mark Young (Atlanta) for continuing to improve his game and had his highest finish today, in 2nd place! And congrats to APT Atlanta Tour Newcomer Doug Dietz for coming in 3rd place! Welcome to the tour Doug and keep up the great playing!
Division 4
It might've been a small field in D4 but you couldn't tell by the dog fight we had! The scores were back and forth all day but our winner ended up winning by only 2 strokes after it was all said and done. Congrats to Kip Moore (Atlanta) for winning his 2nd tournament with APT! And well played Demetrius Minor (Atlanta) for coming in 2nd! Demetrius has won and finished 2nd in his last 2 tournaments. Well done and well played!
Division 5
Having a winning mindset always opens the door to more winning. Congrats to our D5 winner Shane Snyder (Atlanta) for winning his second tournament in a row! Shane played really well today and will most likely get bumped up a division starting next week! Well played Shane! Congrats to Tim Harbin (Birmingham) for coming all the way from Alabama to play in this tournament and place 2nd! And congrats to Wilson Gammill (Birmingham) for representing the Birmingham tour well and playing a solid round.
