On a brutal day 24 players braved the cold, rain, and wind to play on Opening Day at the Hickory Point Golf Course. In Division 1 Shane Thompson used a stellar short game and a hot putter to set the pace at one over 73 for the best round of the day. In Division 2 Chris Van Spankeren built on a one shot lead over Victor Kindermann on the front and as conditions worsened his steady play on the back ended in a 5 shot victory. Darryl Shultz and Darcy Boyles battled it out for the Division 3 title. Darryl opened up a 3 shot lead on the front only to have Darcy battle back to tie on the 17th hole. When both parred the 18th it looked like a playoff but with the conditions the players decided to split the title. In division 4 it was a three man race as Michael Van Spankeren, Scott Connour, and Kyle Meadows all had a chance at the title. Kyle opened up a 1 shot lead on the front nine over Michael with Scott being 6 behind. The 15th hole proved to be pivotal as Mike and Scott made pars and Kyle made double giving Michael a one shot lead which he did not relinquish ending in a two shot margin of victory. Chad Johnson took down the Division 5 title with a 10 shot victory over William Leischner.
