East Tennessee Chapter kicked off our 2024 schedule at Three Ridges golf course in Knoxville, TN., on 5 November 2023.  Players were greeted with beautiful sunny weather, Bermuda grass was already dormant, the course firm and fast, and greens in superb condition and extremely fast. 

Division 1 –  Anthony Stout was the lone competitor in Division 1 to take on the fast greens of Three Ridges.  (No pictures of this scorecard as it had to be burned in a ceremonial ritual)  

In Division 2 we had 2 players from Kentucky almost run away from the field.  Tony White shot 38/38 for a 4 over par 76 and a two stroke victory over fellow KY member Robert Whittaker who shot 39/39. 

Last year’s Division 3 East TN Player of the year started his 2024 season with another win.  Daniel England was setting the bar for the rest of his competition and the 2024 season. 

Division 4 had 6 players in the field. Andrew Larsen started slow but put on a show of getting back to business to score a front nine 43 to lead by one at the turn.  Scoring a division best back nine as well to win by 3 with a score of 89 over Dale Dantzler 92 and Thurman Boyd 95. 

Division 5 also had a 2023 Player of the year start out strong.  Robbie Carlton bested the field shooting a 97 on the tough course conditions over runner up Tony Williams and guest competitor Justin Morgan.  

SR NET was won by Tony Wise (Div 2 winner) from Kentucky with a net one over par 73.   

East TN will be having their next fall event at a new venue for us at Niota, TN. Springbrook Golf and Country Club on 19 Nov 2023.
