2023 Winter Creek Golf Tournament Results

The APT Tulsa Chapter returned to Winter Creek Golf & Social Club in Blanchard Oklahoma on Saturday to contest our 7th event of the season.  Stormy weather left the area in the early morning hours and the sun shined bright on our players and staff as well as a fabulously conditioned golf course.  Thirty players took part in the event which saw four winners pick up their second wins of the season and one new winner.  The “Summer Membership” special was well received as 5 new players took part in the event. 

Division 1 Division 1 Sajan Patel put three birdies up on the front nine and held on after a miscue on the final hole to become the first two-time winner in Division 1 this year.  Patel closed the gap on points leader Andy Proctor with two one day events remaining before the Tulsa Chapter Local Tour Finals at Shangri-La Resort in September.  Newcomer Seth Moore stayed close with an even par 36 on the front but a double bogey on 15 sealed his fate.  Another newcomer, Michael Huff of Stillwater, shot 77 to finish third.  Points leader Andy Proctor, took himself out of contention with a front nine 42 to finish 5th, earning enough points to remain the points leader with Patel right on heals. 

Division 2 Division 2 saw Mesquite, Texas’s Tom Lorenz fire a two under front nine 34, getting it to -4 before faltering on the back nine, shooting a final score of 74 to pick up his first win in Division 2.  Newcomer Kolt Byerly, finished second at 79 and Riley Reed finished up in third with 80.  Josh Linn remained the Player of the Year leader in Division 2 with only three total events remaining in the Tulsa Chapter schedule. 

Division 3  D3, Garye Myers remains the most consistent player on tour with a steady showing of pars, enabling him to pick up his second win in Division 3 by shooting a solid 78.  Norman Springwater shot 82 to finish second.  

Division 4 Patrick Goodnight picked up his second consecutive win in Division 4 by posting a 95 to get the win over second place Don Naifeh.  Goodnight followed up his win at the Tulsa Chapters first major at Forest Ridge Golf Club two weeks ago and firmly cemented himself at the top of the POY standings. 

Division 5  Trip Montgomery of Bristow Oklahoma picked up his second win of the season on Saturday by posting an 87 to beat Neil Hill who shot 89 to take second.  Points leader Brodey Young took third with a 90. 

Senior Net Garye Myers took home the Senior Net hardware with Tom Lorenz taking second and Neil Hill taking home third place. 

APT Tulsa heads over to Meadowbrook Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 5th.  Hope to see everyone there.
