Our Local Finals were held at General’s Retreat at Hermitage Golf Course this past weekend.  Fifty-one players competed for prizes totaling over $5,300 and enhanced points for the season-long Player of the Year races. The weather was outstanding both days and was well-deserved for those players that had to endure poor weather during some of our chapter’s tournaments this season.

The Division 1 competition delivered an intense showdown that went down to the wire. In a one-hole playoff, Nick Goss from Nashville, emerged as the victor, displaying incredible skill and composure.

Goss’s journey to the top included two solid rounds of golf, finishing with a total score of 144, even par for both days. His impressive performance under pressure earned him the top spot and a well-deserved $350 prize.

Dennis King of Nashville, put up a fierce fight, finishing tied for first with Goss at 144. However, it was Goss who secured the playoff victory, leaving King in the second spot with $135 in winnings.

Ramsey Kimbrough of Soddy Daisy finished in 5th place which was enough to secure Player of the Year honors for Division 1. His season was highlighted by five 1st place finishes including his 2-under round of 70 in the season opener at Old Fort.

Division 2 showcased an exciting battle among talented golfers, with Peyton Saxton from Nashville, emerging as the champion in a closely contested competition.

Peyton Saxton’s impressive performance saw him finish the tournament with a final score of +7, shooting rounds of 71 and 80. His consistency under pressure earned him the top spot and a well-deserved $350 prize.

Mike Driscoll, also from Nashville, put up a commendable performance, securing the second position with a total score of +11 (80-75). John Hipp from Christiana, finished closely behind in third place with a score of +12 (77-79).

With his tie for the fourth position, Tom Foster from Murfreesboro, secure Division 2 Player of the Year honors. Foster’s consistency throughout the season propelled him to the top spot with nine top-6 finishes, including two 1st place finishes.

In Division 3, Alex Richardson from Dickson displayed remarkable resilience and consistency throughout the tournament, securing the top position with a final score of +22 (79-87). His impressive performance earned him the winner’s share of $385.

Bryan Harwell from Lewisburg, put up a strong challenge, finishing just one stroke behind Richardson at +23 (83-84) and securing the second position. With his finish, Harwell vaulted into the top spot and claimed the Division 3 Player of the Year honors.  Harwell may not have claimed 1st place in his tournaments this season, but he had three 2nd place finishes and three 3rd place finishes to earn enough points for the PoY.

Division 4 of our Local Finals witnessed an extraordinary performance by Paul Clark from Nashville, who was battlefield promoted from Division 5 after a stellar opening round.

Paul Clark’s display of skill and determination was nothing short of inspiring. He claimed the top position with a final score of +20 (82-82), earning him the winner’s share of $385.

Will Houston from Brentwood, finished in the second position with a score of +28 (86-86), showcasing his consistency on the course. While Houston did not win the event, all was not lost as he claimed Player of the Year honors for the 2nd season in-a-row. His season was highlighted by two 1st place finishes and a slew of 2nd place finishes, totaling seven runner-up finishes.

In Division 5, Thurman Boyd’s exceptional performance secured the top position with a final score of +34 (91-87), earning himself the winner’s share of $350 and also propelled him to Player of the Year honors. His win at General’s was his 1st of the season.
