There were 73 players participating in the First 2-day event of the 2023 season. The event is a great opportunity to get big time points.
In Division 1 the overnight leader was at 70(-2) held by Timothy Barto followed by Davis Stegall 73(+1). Will Morgan starts round 2 with 5 birdies on the front to close the lead down to 1 shot. The players made the turn with 3 players in contention. Barto was able to hold on to the lead and win by 5 shots over Seth Hawkins and Will Morgan. Eli Villaneuva secures the Senior Double Dip Division 1.
In Division 2 the overnight leaders were Nolan Elenz and James Jones at 78(+6). The 2nd round start there were 7 players within 2 shots of the lead. At the turn Chuck Nance was the leader with many players still connected to the leaders. The players came down the stretch and Mac McMillian was victorious to win the Jamestown Park Golf 2day event. 2nd place in Division 2 open Division was tied by 4 players Christian Alderucci,Scott Nichols, James Jones and Juan Sedano. In Senior Double Dip in Division 2 there was a tie for 1st Juan Sedano, Christian Alderucci, Scott Nichols
In Division 3 the overnight leader by 5 shots was Ann Watkins with a score of 79(+7). The players took off in round 2 chasing Watkins. Ann Watkins was able to hold the players in Division 3 to win by 8 shots. The victory was good enough to win Senior Double Dip Division 3 as well. Allen Hagen was able to 2nd place for Division 3 and Matt Bryant was solo 3rd.
In Division 4 Timmy Smith and Myron Samuels were the overnight leaders. At the start of the 2nd round Mike Gray makes a push to close the gap in Division 4. Samuels was able to hold off Smith and Gray to secure victory in Division 4 and Senior Double Dip winner. Smith was solo 2nd place at the Jamestown Golf Club 2-day event.
In Division 5 Cedric Price held an 8 shot lead over Rivia Brown after round 1. The players were all out to run the leader down. Price was able to hold the players off to win Division 5 by 6 shots. In 2nd place was Gary Schnoor and solo 3rd place Keith Thomas and Thomas also was the winner of the Senior Double Dip Division 5.
