The Amateur Players Tour Las Vegas Chapter held their kickoff to the 2023 season this past Sunday at Rhodes Ranch Golf Club with a 2-man best ball format. We have 40 players/20 teams competed for the crystal trophy and great prize fund under blustery cold conditions.
The staff at Rhodes Ranch was absolutely amazing and very accommodating. Big thanks to Mathew Heimark and the rest of the crew for making us feel very welcome!!!
We started the first 45 minutes with beautiful sunny warm weather then followed by windy and cloudy weather all day. The windy conditions didn’t bother the winning team of Matthew Affleck and Tyler Patterson as they combined for the low round of net 64 to win by 6 shots over second place teams of Ernie Alaan/Ramon Dumancas and Geno Suarez/Sam Dunham at net 70. A tie for 4th place were the teams of two APT veterans Kody Conover/Ben May and Gary Rapoza/Greg Roush with a net 71.

Heading into our second season the APT Las Vegas chapter and players alike are excited about our schedule of tournaments, starting with our annual 2023 LAS VEGAS WINTER CLASSIC which will be held over the Martin Luther King weekend on January 14-15. For this year’s event we have contracted with the beautiful Rio Secco Golf Club, home of the Butch Harmon Golf School in Henderson, Nevada. We will have the entire golf course to ourselves as players from all over the Country will be competing on one of the best golf courses in the West. Booked early as this event will sell out.
